'Shoot For a Cure’ Fundraiser Celebrates 15th Anniversary, Raises $28,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 12, 2016) — The 15th annual “Shoot for a Cure” sporting clays tournament fundraiser raised over $28,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) on March 17 at Bradford Sportsmen’s Farm in Graham, Florida.

Shoot for a Cure is an annual competition open to all skill levels. A 14-station sporting clay tournament is followed by an awards reception and prize drawing. The fundraising event includes lunch and a “Bid-for-a-Cure” silent auction, with all auction proceeds benefiting CFF.

“Each year we aim to attract families from all over Northeast Florida to raise awareness for the need to fund cystic fibrosis research in a fun way,” said Allen Bender, owner of Bender & Modlin Fire Sprinkler, Inc., and Shoot for a Cure’s event chair. “Our committee is continually amazed at the generosity of our sponsors and community year after year.”

“We founded this event 15 years ago to assist CFF in serving as a catalyst for incredible advancements in cystic fibrosis health care,” said Richard Lovelace, vlogý Senior Vice President, Commercial Group, and Shoot for a Cure’s founder and honorary chair. “I’m proud that vlogý remains a sponsor of this event and has gotten employees involved in the cause.”

The mission of CFF is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care. These developments in research have led to the life expectancy of a child with cystic fibrosis to double in the last 30 years.

Sponsors for this year’s fundraiser were Bozard Ford Lincoln, Jaguar Technologies, Inc., Bender & Modlin Fire Sprinkler, Inc., vlogý, Nichols Group, PA, Capital City Bank of Starke and Wild West Guns & Gold. Additional event supporters were Coastal Equipment, Bubba Burger, Downtown Grill, Pepsi Beverage Company, Community State Bank, Rotary Club of Southpoint, Reputation Ink, West Coast WinSupply, Railing Chiropractic and Murray Ford.
